New rediscovered var from Sumatera

This is a rediscovered var from Riau, Sumatera. Absolutely beautiful var of the Channa Marulioides. I've seen this var years ago and had no information of its origin until facebook saves the day. Come to think of it fb had help me rediscovered many of my mysterious fishes. I believe this is a very rare var that we wont get to see much of it or understand. The finnage is absolutely beautiful with the flowers extending all the way there. It looks somewhat like the Terengganu var except this is far more intense and the color is much more deeper orange. Someday I hope I get to collect one of this to study and share the data.    video from Azka Rendy (facebook) video from ‎Djun Thox‎ (facebook) video from Azka Rendy (facebook)

Channa marulioides var Terengganu update

This is the first batch fish now around 3.5 - 4", true peat swamp fish showing very strong flower gene. As mentioned before beware when you are looking for Terengganu var. there are open or big water fish and also those from peat swamp. This experiment are from peat swamp fishes and as you can see 95% of the fishes started blooming flowers at very young age, 30% bloom very strong flowers at this tender age. Those from open water for example Lake kenyir usually will not produce flowers like this hence explained why last year there was a big commotion why those that bought grade AAA with 9 to 11 bars fish does not grow up with flowers.

Is this snakeskin?

Could this be the beginning of snakeskin? amongst the whole batch only 1 pc develop into this. I've never seen a baby snakeskin I believe nobody have seen let alone documented the development of the snakeskin. Lets see what becomes of this and I shall update from time to time. I do hope this is a snakeskin in the making.
